Description
Melamine cyanurate (MCA) is a kind of high effective nitrogen flame retardant with the benefits of halogen-free, low toxic, low smoke generation. It is very stable when the temperature is lower than 300 ºC. MCA is fine white powder, odorless and tasteless, greasy, insoluble in water, soluble in formaldehyde, ethanol and other organic solvents, can be well dispersed in oil media. As an environment friendly new type of high efficient additive type flame retardant, MCA is widely used in rubber and plastic, especially, is gained more and more attention in the worldwide in the recent years.
MCA belongs to the nitrogen series flame retardant, a carbon foam layer can be formed when heating to insulate heat and oxygen to protect polymers, the smoke density and the released toxic gases in polymer will be reduced greatly when burning, also no irritant hydrogen gas is occurred, MCA is specially suitable for PA and phenolic resins.
